Posiva Solutions provides on a global scale knowledge and technologies related to the final disposal of nuclear fuel. The necessity for decarbonisation through responsible strategies makes the operation of the Company highly topical at present.
Posiva Solutions Oy started its operation in 2016 and has achieved the role of an acknowledged advisor to national nuclear waste management organisations. During the relatively short period of time that the Company has been in operation, it has already sold its services globally to almost 20 countries, in addition to Finland.
"We appreciate this recognition a lot. It is great that Rauma Chamber of Commerce has noticed the efforts of Posiva Solutions as an exporter of the regional expertise which is of high significance even on a worldwide scale. This recognition will encourage us further to market our knowledge and help the organisations in charge of the final disposal of spent nuclear fuel overcome the challenges they face. Nuclear power plays an important role in the fight against climate change and we can provide a concrete solution for the safe final disposal of spent fuel”, says Mika Pohjonen, the Managing Director of Posiva Solutions.
Seven entries had been submitted to compete for the Award and the Jury consisting of members of the Internationalisation Committee selected JPT Serco Oy, Posiva Solutions Oy and Tammiston Puu Oy as the final three contestants. The International House Concept of the Town of Rauma was awarded a Commendation of Encouragement.
